Used SEAT Ibiza

The Seat Ibiza is a versatile small car from the Volkswagen Group, with a slightly sportier character than its cousins. It suits a first car, a young couple or anyone after a small car that is roomy enough for a weekend away.

Two generations share the market. The 6J (2008-2017) came as a three-door (SC), five-door and estate (ST). The 6F (since 2017) is five-door only, on a more modern and roomier base, mostly with the 1.0 TSI three-cylinder petrol engine. TDI diesels are rare on recent cars. A DSG automatic gearbox is available depending on the engine.

What to check before buying

• A Car-Pass less than two months old, verified by QR code, and the number of previous owners.
• On a 6J diesel, the Euro standard: a Euro 5 diesel can no longer enter the Brussels LEZ.
• The service book: a small car bought for a new driver is not always closely maintained.
• The DSG gearbox, if fitted: smooth starts and no jerks when manoeuvring.
