The Countryman is the biggest MINI: five doors, a proper boot and a raised driving position, with the brand's style and finish. It suits a small family or a couple who want a MINI's character without giving up space.
Three generations meet on the market. The first, the R60 (2010-2016), is the most affordable. The second, the F60 (2017-2023), is roomier and shares a lot with BMWs of its size. It comes with petrol and diesel engines, ALL4 all-wheel drive and as the Cooper SE ALL4 plug-in hybrid. The third, the U25 (since 2024), is bigger again and is also offered as a fully electric version.
What to check before buying
- A Car-Pass less than two months old, verified by QR code: mileage history, Euro standard and open recalls.
- On a diesel, the Euro 6 standard if you drive in Brussels.
- On a Cooper SE ALL4 or an electric version, the battery health when the Car-Pass shows it, and the charging cables.
- The options: many Countrymans are heavily personalised, so check that what the listing promises is there and works.
Inspect the car in daylight with a cold engine, then drive it for at least 20 minutes. A defect the seller mentions is no reason to walk away; one you find on the spot is.
