Used BMW X2

The X2 is BMW's compact SUV with coupé styling. It shares its underpinnings with the X1 but puts looks first: a lower roof and a sportier silhouette. It suits a couple or a solo driver who wants a distinctive compact SUV and does not need the boot and rear space of an X1.

Used, you will mostly find the first-generation F39 (2018-2023), with front-wheel drive (sDrive) or all-wheel drive (xDrive). It comes with petrol and diesel engines and as the xDrive25e plug-in hybrid. The second-generation U10 (since late 2023) is bigger, takes on a true coupé-SUV shape and is also available as the electric iX2.

What to check before buying

• Rear visibility on the test drive, and whether the parking sensors and reversing camera work.
• The boot, with your pushchair or suitcases: the coupé roofline costs volume.
• A Car-Pass less than two months old, verified by QR code, and the Euro standard on a diesel if you drive into Brussels.
• On an xDrive25e or iX2, the battery health when the Car-Pass shows it.

Buy from a dealer and you get at least a year of warranty. Between private individuals, you are only protected against serious hidden defects: have a garage inspect the car before you pay.
