Used Audi Q2

The Audi Q2 is a small premium SUV, shorter than an A3 but taller. It's for people who want a compact car that's easy to park in town, with Audi's finish. It suits a couple or a solo driver; for a family with older children, the boot and rear space can be tight. It was launched in 2016 and facelifted in 2020.

Engines range from the 1.0 TFSI to the 2.0 TFSI, with a very common 1.5 TFSI, plus 1.6 and 2.0 TDI diesels. The most powerful versions have quattro all-wheel drive, and there's a sporty SQ2. Many have the S tronic automatic gearbox.

The Q2 holds its value well, which keeps used prices fairly high. Compare cars of the same year, engine and equipment, and check which options are actually fitted, because trim levels vary a lot.

Before you buy, check:

• the Euro standard of a diesel if you drive in Brussels, Antwerp or Ghent;
• how the S tronic gearbox behaves during a test drive of at least 20 minutes;
• the wheels and sills, exposed in town driving;
• the screen, camera and driver aids.
